Even though there is light at the end of the tunnel, coronavirus is still lurking and it isn’t going away any time soon. We can only hope with vaccinations and restrictions that numbers will reduce significantly and we can resume a somewhat normal life.
We can’t wait for you to all be able to go on holiday again and we want to be there to support you when that happens. Our travel insurance offers protection for both yourself and your trip, but in reality, just a policy and a passport may not cut it in the future when you want to go abroad.
There are now requirements in place to get a PCR test before flying so that you can give proof of a negative test result before you board the plane. If you have no symptoms then you probably won’t able to get a test free of charge from the NHS. Instead you’ll have to look to private companies, who can charge a lot for a test.
We understand holidays are expensive enough and the last thing you need to be paying out hundreds of pounds per test, just so you can go away for a week or two. That’s why we’ve partnered with RightAngled, an at home covid-19 test provider. To make it even better, their offering all our customers a 15% discount, meaning more spending money whilst you’re away! Simply visit their site and purchase the test with discount code ‘TIFCOVID15’ to save 15%.
The test is no different than one you would receive at an NHS testing centre. What sets it apart is you can do it in the comfort of your own home. Simply order online before 5pm and you will receive the test the next day, then do the swabs and send it back to RightAngled. You will get your results online within 24 hours of it arriving at the lab, so there’s no need to worry about long wait times. If you do test negative then you can download and print your fit-to-fly certificate, ready for your departure!
If your test does come back as positive then you may be concerned about what is going to happen to your holiday. The first thing you do is self-isolate for the necessary amount of time. You should contact your travel insurance provider. As of the 5th January 2021, Flexicover Single and Multi -Trip policies will provide cover for trip cancellation if you or anyone named on your policy test positive for COVID-19 up to 14 days prior to travelling, plus many other benefits to keep you travelling worry-free during these uncertain times.
