Travel tips for 2015

Travel tips 2015

Published: 12 January 2015

Traveling and holidays are great ways to embark on new adventures and see the world. Create long lasting memories this year by visiting exciting new destinations and doing something different.

Carefully planning your trip before you go is very important. The Flexicover team have put together some tips:

  • Know your destination

  • Research your destination before you travel. There is so much information online so do ensure you read reviews, travel blogs, and travel websites for useful tips. Guide books can often be very valuable giving you key tips on places to see and visit as well as places to stay and eat too. Discover what your destination has to offer so you can maximise your time there and enjoy it to its full potential. Reading up will also allow you to learn about the local culture and tradition more so you can plan ahead. For example, many sacred places you visit will expect you to be dressed appropriately; many even request that you are covered in long sleeves clothes. Knowing this kind of information will allow you to better plan and pack appropriately. Find out if there are any events or festivals going on the same time you are visiting or if you need to buy tickets ahead of your arrival. This will curb any disappointment

  • Traveling solo

  • Travelling solo often allows you to explore a new destination on a more personal level and indulge yourself fully. You choose and tailor make the itinerary that best suits you and any changes along the way are also much easier to make. Travelling alone can be a great way to meet likeminded people too that are doing exactly what you are. It’s also a great way to become more independent, self-reliant and enjoy your triumphs.

  • Travel in a group

  • While travelling solo has its own exciting perks, there are also advantages to travelling in a group. Travelling in numbers can be much safer especially if visiting a new destination where local traditions are different to your own. Sharing information, stories and ideas with other likeminded can be interesting and fun and lifelong friendships can be made. Often many attraction sites will offer group destinations which you can make the most of if you are travelling in crowds too. Enjoy drinks and dinners with fellow travellers and share experiences and photos too!

  • Pack the essentials

  • Whether you are travelling alone or in a group, be sure to pack smart. Check the weather of the destination(s) you are traveling to and pack the right type of clothing. A small first aid box can always be helpful especially if participating in any activities too. Most travellers usually always over pack which can be costly at airports but also hard to carry around, especially if travelling to more than one place. Remember that nowadays you can find most things you need even on arrival!

Wherever you are traveling in 2015 and whichever kind of holiday you partake in, remember to take your Flexicover travel insurance with you. The Flexicover team are committed to ensuring you are safe and secure, 24 hours a day,365 days a year when away.
