When taking out an Annual policy a feature most often available is an automatic insurance renewal. The policy after 12 months will automatically renew without you having to remember the expiry date. This ensures that you will not find yourself without a travel insurance renewal and the insurance will run continuously.
A letter or email is sent at least 3 weeks before your policy is due to expire and tell you about your new premium, including any Loyalty Discount and any changes that apply to the policy terms and conditions. If you are happy with the travel insurance renewal information, you do not need to contact us as we will automatically collect your premium and renew your policy. Payment will be taken from the credit or debit card that was originally used immediately before the renewal date. No credit or debit card details are held by us, we will ask the bank that holds your payment details to charge the relevant premium to your card on the automatic insurance renewal date.
When renewing a policy there may be times when changes to the policy are required. You will need to tell us about any changes to your personal circumstances, and whether you still require cover for any optional upgrades or extensions you may have previously had.
If your credit / debit card has expired since you last purchased your policy, we will contact you at least 3 weeks before your policy ends to renew, either online or by telephone.
If you do not want us to complete an automatic insurance renewal, all you need to do is contact us by email or telephone to the contact addresses in your policy documentation and let us know before your renewal date.
Once an automatic insurance renewal is complete you will still have a period to examine the new policy wording for 14 days to decide that the level of cover is suited to your needs. If you do decide to cancel with the 14 days cooling off period a fee may be payable and the amount charged.
