If you’re looking for some travel inspiration this November, look no further. We’ve got some great places, near and far you can visit, each with their own touch of magic to bring you a memorable break.
Whilst November signals the beginning of winter in the UK and much of Europe, don’t let that stop you from taking a break away and some time out. There are some great destinations to travel to for some winter sun and each of this week’s selection stand out for their charm and character.
This is an ideal time of year to take a break before the hustle and bustle of Christmas starts!
The Flexicover Team check out these great destinations.
Jerusalem, the holy city for Judaism, Christianity and Islam religions and the capital of Israel, is one of the oldest cities in the world and laden with history. Known as the ‘City of Gold’ in Hebrew it’s a great city to spend a few days to see the sites and holy spots this city has to offer. Walk around the Old City, a World Heritage Site and visit the Garden Tomb (supposedly the tomb of Jesus) then visit New Jerusalem where the Holy Land hums with normal life. En route, pick up some great souvenirs from jewellery to food and fabrics in the street markets. Take advantage of the warm weather and low rainfall too!
If it's beaches you’re looking for, these fabulous islands off the west coast of Africa are a great option. With white sandy beaches and some relaxation, you will have a great time. Boasting a blend of African, Brazilian and Portuguese cultures and colours, the islands have a great vibe and are great choice to spend time lapping up the silky sands and participating in water sports, if that’s your thing too! So whether it’s feasting on fresh seafood, watching a perfect sunset or just taking time out, this will make a great November break away and, at this time of the year, you’re likely to get some good deals too!
The Portuguese island of Madeira is a great place to visit in November. Temperatures, although not as hot as the summer months, are still very pleasant and, with little rainfall, this is a great place to visit for a break away. Madeira has a charming feel to it, with splendid sceneries of lush mountainous landscapes; this is a great place if you want to unwind, relax and enjoy good food! Walking is a favourite pastime of holidaymakers on this island; enjoy wandering the streets and feel the old colonial charm. Pick up a bottle of Madeira wine and some Madeira cake as your souvenirs! Enjoy water sports along the beach, hiking through small picturesque towns and sampling local cuisines, plenty to do for everyone!
One of the most popular holiday destinations in the USA, with miles of tropical beaches and emerald green waters, Hawaii is a great destination to escape the British cold weather. Breathtaking natural beauty in each of the six unique islands, dramatic scenery from tropical rainforests to sandy beaches, beautiful exotic flowers and waterfalls all in abundance make this a fabulous November holiday destination. Visit Pearl Harbor on the island of Oahu, explore the capital Honolulu, enjoy coffee at one of the Cuban cafes and head to the iconic Waikiki beach. A surfer’s paradise, a romantic holiday and family fun all in one! Hawaii is diverse and offers entertainment for everyone.
Located in the southwestern Indian Ocean, Mauritius is known for luxury hotels on sandy beaches with mountain backdrops. It has a tropical climate and November is a great time to visit, with only a few wet days in the month, 9 hours of sunshine and 31 degree temperatures. If sun, sea, sand and relaxation are your thing, then this island with its mix of Chinese, Indian and French cultures is a great choice. Whether you enjoy the scenic beaches, devour the local cuisine, visit the clear waterfalls and jungle-covered mountains, participate in a range of water sports activities, have a round of golf or even horse ride on the beach – you will not be left disappointed!
