The Flexicover Team checks these out!
Le Salon du Chocolat, Paris; France: 30th Oct – 3rd Nov
Chocolate lovers and chocoholics will love this! A chocolate festival takes place in Paris each year and has been ongoing since 1993. This year the space occupied by the event has increased from 12,500 to 20,000 sqm – entirely dedicated to sweet treats! With chocolatiers, chefs, pastry chefs and cocoa experts from all over the world, this event is a who’s who of the chocolate world. With a cocoa show featuring dance, songs and rituals from cocoa producing countries, to international chefs participating in live demonstrations of new chocolate recipes and even workshops for children. Some would make any excuse to visit Paris – its October weather has a romanticism matched by no other city in the world. To attend a Chocolate festival at the same time is a real icing on the cake!

Visitors can take shuttle tours down into the gorge, go whitewater rafting and watch the event from below or take guided tours along the catwalk which spans underneath of the bridge. October a boring month? Not on Bridge Day!
El Dia de la Hispanidad, Madrid; Spain: 12th Oct
The 12th of October is an annual national holiday in Spain (Columbus Day) and commemorates the history of Spain and when Christopher Columbus first set foot in the Americas in 1492. The parade normally starts in the morning and is vibrant, colourful and certainly worth looking up! Arrive early to get a good spot and watch out for the fighter jets in the sky! Make it an extended visit and enjoy the sounds and sights of this historic city – all in your short sleeves!
